Beside the protection against physical impacts, the protection against fire, and a reliable power supply, air conditioning is one of the four basic requirements for security in data centers.

For the CITA we chose a cooling concept dealing separately with the “building climate” and the air conditioning of the IT machine rooms. Cleaning and conditioning the supply and recirculating air is accomplished with two separate and therefore fully redundant systems.

Cooling the building can thus be achieved with highly pure air with optimum humidity. Every single room with IT devices is air conditioned completely independently with several redundant room cooling systems. In extreme exceptional cases, a further redundancy level of the room air conditioning can be achieved by redirecting the building’s air conditioning.

All this is backed by a fully self-sufficient, redundant water supply system (company-owned deep well), which enables an emergency cooling system even in extreme situations. Tested and proven service partners provide regular maintenance and 24/7 availability.
